Harrisonburg, VA is home to amazing single-track riding in the Blue Ridge Mountains: fast, tech rock, steep pitches, and ridgeline grand views. Massanutten Bike Park hosts sanctioned DH races, and the “Western Slopes” offers pedal and shuttle access to Enduro Series trails.
Reddish Knob [4,397’] in the George Washington National Forest offers beautiful views as the trail takes us from a high ridgeline start and descends into well-built flow trails.
Harrisonburg’s historic downtown combines the mountain / outdoors / agricultural scene for the perfect après riding dining and experience.

Sample Itinerary:
- Friday-Western Slopes of Massanutten Resort.
- Shuttle the Western slopes noon until close @4p.
- Check in to home base on the Massanutten Resort.
- Dinner provided at home for the group: an evening to relax and socialize.
- Saturday– G.W. National Forest shuttle Reddish Knob
- Breakfast at home base.
- 10am – 4pm Ride till you can’t hold on anymore! Reddish Knob offers 2,500+ vertical feet of decent over 7 miles – a tech fast steep start down the ridgeline, a few hidden- gem climbs in the middle, more descending and a winding flow to finish.
- Lunch provided: snacks, hydration, PB&J.
- A stop at home base before dinner and drinks in historic downtown Harrisonburg.
- Sunday
- Breakfast at home base and prepare for the ride & pack up.
- Morning ride Western Slopes.
- Late lunch at the Resort’s restaurants before heading home.
Questions?
To get the most from this experience, proficient downhill/enduro riders train for strength-endurance. Riding downhill is different than trail/XC pedaling; even sessioning your favorite down-trending sections will be useful.
